Board of Young Injured Soldiers Project
Chairman – Mr J P Dwyer AM
John Dwyer has extensive experience in corporate, local government and
community management positions. A former senior Army officer with 25
years of military service, John is also a recipient of a Churchill
Fellowship studying community welfare matters.
Secretary – Mr J Cockburn
John
Cockburn is a lawyer practising in industrial and administrative law
with extensive experience in ex-service and veterans law matters. John
is also the International Vice-President of the World Muay Thai Boxing
Council, an international sporting body providing invaluable support to
the project.
Financial Officer – Mr R Vile
Ross
Vile is an accountant and partner of a prominent Brisbane practice. As
the project’s financial officer he oversees the statutory obligations
of the Trust status.
Member – Mr B Temple AM
Bill
Temple, through the Greenslopes RSL sub-branch in Queensland was
instrumental in establishing the Project’s initial objectives and
maintains essential links to the ex-service community.
Member – Mr I Mackie
Ian
Mackie, a former President of the Queensland Teachers Union and
Ombudsman for Training and Apprentices, is instrumental in the
project’s interaction with industry and employment agencies.
Member – Dr B Lawford
Bruce Lawford, a practising psychiatrist, has extensive practical experience with the Defence Force community in Australia.
Member – Dr S Geffen
Saul
Geffen is a Rehabilitation medical specialist with first hand
experience in case management of servicemen and servicewomen. Saul is
also a member of the World Muay Thai Boxing medical committee.
