Purpose

The purpose of the Young Injured Servicemen (YIS) Project is to provide current and former servicemen and servicewomen, their spouses and their families a point of access to a range of community and employment support services.
The Project team recognises the difficulties families and individuals face in the transition from Defence Force service to a life in the diversity of the Australian community and provides this site as a Ready Reference to help and assist this transition.
The Board of the project team appreciates and acknowledges the commitment of the support agencies, organisations and financial donors who have bought this project to life.  As stated, our simple aim is to assist many skilled young people, despite impairment and family difficulties, to move on to lead a satisfying and worthwhile life in our wonderful country.

I encourage all ex-servicemen and women to browse our site and contact any of the agencies listed.  They understand your needs and we are here to provide help.
